I talked to my mother today and she is truly worried, the man of her world is on deaths bed. She is trying to hold herself together for the sake of my step-dad and my sister. She's constantly trying to be the "rock", aka the sane one. I offered to make a call to a local preacher to come to the house and maybe talk to her and Sonny. My thinking was this might provide not only an open door, but to also help her emotions. My mother being who she is thought this is unheard of...She doesn't know this man and she's kind of shy around people she doesn't know (if any of you truly know me, well you know this isn't a problem I have ). She turned me down for now. In our Sunday sermon Brian talked to us about the lords supper in Mark 14:12-26. I thought long and hard on how I could apply this scripture to my devotional that I send out and then it just came to me.

You know Jesus told the disciples to go into the city, find a man, go to his home, prepare a large room and to make preparations. Can you imagine a close friend of yours to say something to this extent? We'd have all kinds of questions like, "Does he know we are coming?"; "Is this place very far?"; "What do we need to bring?"; "Who is providing the food?", I could go on and on. We find ourselves full of questions, but the disciples at this point didn't ask any questions, they just did it. I think we sometimes forget who our faith is in. Is our faith in God, is our faith in our selves, or even worse is our faith in someone or something else? This Sunday I took a big step in my giving of the contribution. Now by no means is this bragging but I prayed and wrote a figure down that was larger than normal. I knew I hadn't been giving all that I could for a long time and I decided it was time for a change. I know God will provide, so I wrote the number down on the check and dropped it in. Afterwards I said, "God will provide". Then we got a puppy and the first vet bill was 152.00 and I handed over my debit card and said, "God will provide". Here is something I thought of as I was thinking of how God will provide. Matthew 6:8 "Do not be like them (pagans), for your Father knows what you need before you ask him". Trusting in God can be down right difficult for us to do as a human race and a need to see things, but this isn't what faith is. Faith is unseen. I hope this email finds you in good health and trusting God to guide your life. I make it a point to pray for you and your family (even if you don't ask for it...
